A WOMAN has died after falling on an escalator at a WHSmith retailer in a UK buying centre.

The 90-year-old tragically handed away after the accident in WHSmith at Quadrant Procuring Centre in Swansea.

An inquest into the dying of Margaret Rose Harris heard how the retiree died from exterior bleeding.

Margaret, of Miers Avenue in St Thomas suffered “traumatic lacerations” to her proper leg after falling on the escalator.

She was left severely wounded after she fell on Tuesday, January 21, of this 12 months.

The retired administrator had been prescribed apixaban and aspirin.

The inquest heard that the remedy would have contributed to the continual bleeding.

It was dominated in the course of the inquest that there have been no faults in respect of the escalator or the encircling surroundings.

Senior coroner Aled Gruffydd returned a conclusion of unintentional dying.
