Neighbours have paid tribute to a ‘heat hearted and peace loving’ pensioner discovered strangled at his south London residence.

Emergency companies have been scrambled to Wellmeadow Highway at 1am on Sunday. They discovered Brian Hunt, 87, lifeless at his residence.

Vasile Iosebica, 47, who was identified to the sufferer had been charged with homicide.

A autopsy examination held on Monday gave the reason for loss of life as compression of the neck.

Mr Hunt’s next-of-kin have been knowledgeable and are being supported by specially-trained officers, the Met has mentioned.

Flowers have been left exterior the home in tribute to Mr Hunt.

His subsequent door neighbour Yvonne, instructed Metro: ‘He was a stunning heat warm-hearted man.

‘He cherished animals and was very peace-loving. He had lived right here for round 20 years. He cared for his spouse, Brenda for years when she was sick.

‘She had handed away, however he was so pretty and caring.

‘He at all times had a wave for us once we have been within the backyard and was well-loved in the neighborhood.

‘He went to the native pub and was a widely known and revered man. We’re devastated.’
