The Purple Arrows are taking to the skies this weekend, with flypasts and performances at quite a lot of places.

Followers within the north-west of England might be able to spot the show staff of the Royal Air Drive as they make their approach to performances this weekend.

The Purple Arrows, which have been flying since 1965, will formally show their trademark shut formations and precision flying at Blackpool Air Present on Saturday, earlier than making their approach to the Royal Edinburgh Army Tattoo flypast.

They are going to then make a second look at Blackpool Airshow on Sunday, closing the festivities at round 5pm earlier than flying on to their base at RAF Waddington, in Lincolnshire.

What’s the flight path of the Purple Arrows on Saturday, August 9?

After this, the staff will fly over Murrayfield Stadium at 6.16pm, north-west of Moffat at 6.21pm, south-west of Annan at 6.25pm and south-west of Whitehaven at 6.30pm. They are going to arrive again in Blackpool at 6.38pm.

What’s the flight path on Sunday, August 10?

The Purple Arrows will make their second look at Blackpool Airshow on Sunday. Their flight path will replicate Saturday’s, starting in Blackpool at 4.38pm.

It should then cross north-west of Southport at 4.40pm, Llandudno at 4.47pm, north of Colwyn Bay at 4.48pm, Rhyl at 4.49pm, south-west of Eccleston at 4.54pm, south-west of Belmont at 4.55pm, south-east of Copster Inexperienced at 4.57pm, and south of Esprick at 5pm.

The Blackpool show will then start at 5.01pm and end at 5.28pm.

The Purple Arrows will then depart Blackpool at 7.30pm to fly to their base at RAF Waddington, in Lincolnshire – one of many RAF’s busiest.

The planes will cross Cleveleys at 7.32pm, fly north-east of Nice Eccleston at 7.33pm, north-east of Grassington at 7.38pm, south-east of Tollerton at 7.43pm, Swinefleet at 7.47pm, south of Scotton at 7.50pm and land at RAF Waddington at 7.53pm.

When will they subsequent be on show in 2025?

The Purple Arrows will subsequent be on show at Falmouth Week on August 13, earlier than making 4 appearances at Eastbourne Worldwide Airshow from August 14 to 17.

Additional dates in England will likely be Cromer Carnival on August 20, Clacton Airshow from August 21 to 22, and Sidmouth Regatta on August 22.

They are going to then start a sequence of worldwide appearances.

The Purple Arrows had flown virtually 5,000 shows in 57 nations by the start of 2025 – the staff’s sixtieth season.
