A 41-year-old man has been arrested after reportedly shouting ‘demise to America, demise to Trump’ at Glasgow Airport.

Officers boarded the plane from London Luton as soon as it landed at round 8.20am this morning – coinciding with the US president’s go to to Scotland.

In viral footage, a person seems to shout demise to America, demise to Trump’ earlier than shouting Allāhu Akbar – which is Arabic for God is best.

He’s later tackled by passengers, with one saying to him ‘sit down, don’t transfer’ as he lies pinned on the easyJet airplane’s flooring.

Officers from Police Scotland could be seen escorting a person in handcuffs out of the plane.

A Police Scotland spokesperson informed Metro.co.uk: ‘We obtained a report of a person inflicting a disturbance on a flight arriving in Glasgow round 8.20am on Sunday, 27 July, 2025.

‘Officers boarded the airplane on its arrival and a 41-year-old man was arrested and stays in custody. Enquiries are persevering with.

‘Presently we imagine the incident was contained and that no person else was concerned.

‘We’re conscious of movies circulating on-line and these are being assessed by counter terrorism officers.’

An easyJet spokesperson added: ‘Flight EZY609 from Luton to Glasgow this morning was met by police on arrival in Glasgow, the place they boarded the plane and eliminated a passenger resulting from their behaviour onboard.

‘easyJet’s crew are skilled to evaluate all conditions and act shortly and appropriately to make sure that the security of the flight and different clients just isn’t compromised at any time.

‘The protection and wellbeing of our clients and crew is all the time easyJet’s highest precedence.’
