
Drivers confronted miles of gridlock yesterday after a serious motorway was shut down for hours when a lorry hit a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a person in his 50s, was pronounced lifeless on the scene after being hit by the truck on the M5 close to Taunton.
The motorway was shut down for hours as emergency companies investigated how the crash unfolded simply earlier than 2.45 pm. It has since reopened.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police stated: ‘Our ideas are with the person’s household, who’ve been notified and can obtain help from a specially-trained officer.
