THE M53 has shut following a rush-hour crash – with site visitors stopped as “all emergency crews” scrambled to the scene.
The motorway has closed between junction 5 at Eastham and junction six at Ellesmere Port heading southbound following the collision in Liverpool.
Congestion has been reported again to junction 5.
Cops, ambulances and the hearth service raced to the scene early this morning.
Inrix site visitors monitor mentioned: “All site visitors being quickly held and stationary site visitors as a consequence of accident on M53 Southbound from J6 (Hooton) to J7 B5132 Netherpool Highway (Overpool).
“Congestion to again previous J5 (Eastham) for southbound.
“The northbound facet slows as site visitors passes the scene.
“All site visitors was held round 08:35am.”
