THE M25 has been shut after a lorry crash – with an enormous oil spill sparking “extreme” hour-long delays.
Greater than 8 miles of congestion has been reported anticlockwise between J10 (Wisley) and J9 (Leatherhead) in Surrey.
Drivers taking the M25 have been urged to plan forward following warnings of 60-minute site visitors delays.
The crash, which is believed to have concerned a lorry, was reported at round 7:30 this morning.
Nationwide Highways stated: “2 lanes (of 4) stay closed on the #M25 anti-clockwise between J10 (#Wisley) and J9 (#Leatherhead).
“Our service suppliers are at the moment clearing a diesel spillage brought on by the collision. Barrier repairs are additionally required.
Delays of a minimum of 60 minutes on strategy.“
