Australia will recognise a state of Palestine in September on the United Nations Basic Meeting, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese mentioned on Monday.
Talking at a press convention with Overseas Minister Penny Wong in Canberra, Albanese accused Israel of “persevering with to defy worldwide legislation”.
The PM added that he had made the choice after consulting the UK, New Zealand, Japan and Israel.
The discussions with the Israelis have been “civil”, he mentioned.
In the meantime, New Zealand’s Overseas Minister Winston Peters revealed that his nation was additionally contemplating recognition of a Palestinian state.
Peters mentioned Prime Minister Christopher Luxon's Cupboard would make a proper choice in September and current the federal government's strategy on the UN Leaders' Week.
